William Henry PARRISH was born 9th May 1850 in Wollongong, NSW.

He married Mary Frances Adeline MOORE on 12th November 1873 at St Phillips Church, Sydney.,

Mary was born 5th June 1855 in Bathurst, NSW.

William Henry was 20 years old when his father died in 1870. He married 3 years later in Sydney.

He settled in Foxground where his first 3 children were born.

He joined the railways and was stationed in the north of NSW, at Moonbi near Tamworth and then Narrabri.

Their youngest child died of diptheria aged 11 years in 1911.

He and Mary separated, but did not divorce.

Mary stayed in Narrabri where she ran a boarding house for railway employees.

She also acted as midwife in the district.

She had a cafe in Manilla about 1908 and moved to Barraba in 1909 where she was a midwife and delivered over 360 babies.

She had a hospital for expectant mothers at "Ivanhoe" in Edward Street.

William returned to Foxground, but was also spent some time with his son Ernest in Mount George near Taree.

There were 14 children in all:

  10. Alice Mildred Undine D. M. (Dulcie) 1893 - 1939
  11. Phoebe Eleanor Irene 1896 - 1998
  12. Myrtle Theresa Doreen 1900 - 1911

Mary died 6th January 1927in Parramatta aged 71.

William Henry died 13th June 1933 in Lidcombe aged 83.

They are both buried in Rookwood Cemetery.
