James Vaughan married Anne Killeen on the 16th February 1848 at Campbells Creek (near Bathurst), NSW.
He was a labourer and sheep farmer of Cherry Tree Hill and she was from Campbells Creek.
A daughter, Mary Anne was born on 23rd June 1849 at Bathurst. She married Samuel Joseph Patterson.
Two other children were born: Adelaide 1850 and James E. 1851.
Martin Killeen
A witness to James & Anne's marriage was her brother Martin Killeen.
Martin arrived in NSW on the ship "Pearl" 17th August 1841 with his wife Anne (McNevin). He was a native of Bannagher, Offaly (King's County), Ireland.
Martin Killeen (reported as "Colleen" in the Bathurst Free Press) was charged with stealing 31 sheep, the property of Mr W.H. Suttor from his property "Campbells Creek" in October 1850. He was found guilty and sentenced to 5 years gaol and road works. He died April 1852 at Cockatoo Island. He was buried in the Old Sydney Burial Ground (or "Sandhills Cemetery", Elizabeth & Devonshire Streets).
