SAMUEL WHITE
"a troubled life"
The career and history of Samuel shows that he led a very troubled existence until he married and had children.
The birth certificates of several of his children indicate that Samuel was born in Norwich or Norfolk and varying between 1810 - 1815. They also indicate that he was married in Tasmania in 1855.
The Colonial Records for Tasmania are very thorough because it remained a penal colony longer than the other states. There are only two "Samuel White's" on record in Tasmania. One Samuel shows his native place Stroud Waters and is almost certainly not related. The other fits our ancestor quite closely, although there is no conclusive proof that they are the same person.
No trace of his marriage details have yet been found even though it is stated quite clearly on his childrens' birth certificates.
