He married Mary GRAHAM on 22nd February 1882 at Fernhill Church, Upper Kangaroo River, NSW.
Mary was born 2nd April 1861 in Dapto, NSW, the daughter of Robert Graham and Ann (Nixon).
After they married, Edward and Mary commenced dairy farming on their own property and built their home on the steep hillside at Upper Kangaroo River. This house burnt down in the 1950's.
Edward and Mary were devout members of the local Church of England.
Edwrad was an active member of the Kangaroo Valley Co-operative Dairy Factory.
He became associated with the local Returned Soldiers League after their son Albert came back from World War I.
They had 10 children:
Edward died 25th August 1939 in Nowra, NSW aged 80.
Mary died 20th October 1947 in Nowra, NSW aged 95.
They are buried together in Kangaroo Valley Angican Cemetery.
