At the age of 18, on 4 June 1859, at Kings Plains, she married Thomas Burke a farmer, native of Kilkenny, Ireland, the son of John and Johanna Burke.

They had 12 children:

• Susan Margaret 1866 - 1926
• Hanna (Annie) Margaret 1869 - 1902 (m. Cecil Walter Rees)
• Elizabeth Mary 1871 - 1947
• Dorothy Theresa 1874 - 1926 (m. John Robinson)
• Mary Helena 1876 - 1937 (m. George Manton Cramp)
• Gertrude 1879 - 1953
• Samuel Joseph 1881 - 1943 (m. Mary Ann Ryan)
• Irene Lucy 1885 - 1956
• Thomas William 1888 - 1951 (m. Mary E. Ryan)

Dorothy died 15 April 1902 at Barry, near Blayney aged 61.

Thomas died 29 July 1914 at 'Barryrenie' near Cowra aged 79.

They are both buried in the RC section of Blayney Cemetery
